Cambodia’s Hundreds of Schools Closed due to Thai Military Shelling

Phnom Penh: 25 July 2025): At least 260 schools in Oddar Meanchey province only, next the Thai border, have been completely suspended after clashes between Cambodia and Thai troops erupted since Thursday morning.
Thai military has used artilleries with cluster bombs and F-16 to shell and bomb on Buddhist temples, the world heritage Preah Vihear temple, market and civilian residence areas inside Cambodia.
Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Manet said Thai troops launched an attack on Cambodian army positions at Ta Moan Thom Temple and Ta Krabey Temple in Oddar Meanchey province, and expanded the geographical area.
Cambodia has always maintained a position of peaceful resolution of issues, but in this case, we have no choice but to respond with armed force against armed aggression, he said.
The Thai military also used fake news saying that Cambodian leader Hun Sen escape to China with his private jet and the fake was echoed by Thai news media and social media. (Chhay Sophal)
