US President’s Letter to Cambodia’s Prime Minister

Phnom Penh (28 August 2025): US President Donald J. Trump has recently sent a letter to Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Manet saying that Cambodia has its long and storied history and culture.

In a letter dated on 20 August but posted on the Cambodian Prime Minister on Wednesday night, President Trump said “…I can tell you that you are a strong leader who values and appreciates peace. I am proud to be a part of the ceasefire deal that ended the horrible fighting and save thousands of lives”.

Besides express his thank to Prime Minister Hun Manet for nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize, President Trump said Cambodia and the United States can focus on prosperity for the ‘two great countries”. Chhay Sophal
