Phnom Penh (31 July, 2013): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Wednesday afternoon claimed that he is still the country’s Prime Minister and will be in the premiership in the next five years.
Based on the constitution, voters, and the policy and regulation of his Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), he said no one can replace him as the premier.

Speaking in the first public appearance, Hun Sen urged people to stay calm and make business as normal while his government officials as well as armed forces have to go back to work and be ready to help people for flood in the coming days.

Hun Sen expressed his willing to spend his tough time to talk to Sam Rainsy, opposition Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP), for the national interest.

According to unofficial preliminary results of the Sunday national election, Hun Sen’s CPP won 68 out of 123 parliamentary seats and Sam Rainsy’s CNRP got 55 seats.

Yesterday, Sam Rainsy and his CNRP rejected the election results saying that the poll has had a lot of irregularities and urged for a proper investigation.

Echoing CNRP, the Washington administration also urged Cambodia to conduct an investigation into allegation of irregularities.

In his first reaction on Wednesday, Hun Sen said that he and his CPP would welcome the international community and others to investigate into the allegation.

Hun Sen also hinted that his CPP has already established a committee to negotiate with CNRP for the structure of National Assembly leadership and for the sake of the nation and people.
