Cambodian Senate President Urges His Authorities to Protect Thai Citizens in Cambodia
Phnom Penh (15 December 2025): Cambodian Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen has urged his authorities nationwide to help protect Thai citizens working and living in Cambodia.
The Senate President Sunday reiterated that he suggested the Royal Government that any travel of Cambodians and Thais, including other foreigners, across the land border should be suspended to ensure their safety while the Thai military have been launching attacks by shelling, and airstrike from F-16 fighter jet with cluster bombs, suicide drones, spraying toxic smoke inside the Cambodian territory.
Since the start of Thai military’s invasion from 7 December, at least 12 innocent Cambodian civilians (one baby) were dead and injured 74 and the displacement of more than 400,000 people as of December 15 while villagers’ houses, schools, local government buildings, Buddhist pagodas, roads, and bridges were damaged.
