Huawei Hosts First Offline “Train the Trainer” Program at Regional ICT Talent Joint Training Center, Empowering AI Education Across Cambodia and Laos

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – October 20, 2025 – The first offline “Train the Trainer (TTT)” program was successfully organized at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), home to the Regional ICT Talent Joint Training Center. The five-day training, held from October 20 to 24, 2025, gathered more than 30 instructors and academic professionals from top nine ICT Academy partnered universities across Cambodia and Laos, marking an important step toward advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) education and digital talent development in the region.
The Train the Trainer (TTT) initiative is a professional capacity-building program designed to empower university and vocational institute instructors with the knowledge and pedagogical skills required to teach emerging ICT and AI technologies. Through this program, educators receive in-depth training in AI fundamentals, machine learning, deep learning, data analytics, and practical cloud-based applications, along with guidance on integrating these subjects into their academic curricula.
This first in-person session allowed participants to engage directly with experts and collaborate with peers from both countries. The program emphasized interactive learning, hands-on exercises, and experience sharing to ensure that instructors can transfer newly acquired skills to their own classrooms and research environments.
By strengthening the teaching capabilities of higher education institutions, the TTT program contributes to building a sustainable talent ecosystem aligned with the Cambodia Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021–2035 and regional digital transformation goals. Following the success of this AI-focused session, a second course training on Computing is scheduled to take place in November, continuing efforts to expand regional cooperation and strengthen ICT education capacity across Southeast Asia.
The successful completion of this five-day AI training underscores the effectiveness of the program and Huawei’s ongoing contribution to advancing digital education in Cambodia and Laos. Supported by government initiatives and in collaboration with leading universities from both countries, the Train the Trainer program continues to strengthen ICT and AI talent development, laying a foundation for a digitally skilled workforce across the region.
