Thailand Accused of Starting Up First with Cambodia

At the same time, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun on Tuesday called for an end to fighting between Cambodia and Thailand, urging both sides to restore peace as clashes intensified along their shared border.
In Cambodia, the Ministry of National Defence said Thailand still bombs on Cambodia on Tuesday and its uses of all types of heavy and destructive weapons and equipment, including F-16 fighter jets, DTI-2, advanced drones, Cluster bombs and toxic gas, and the deployment of a large number of troops to encroach on Cambodian territory is a clear and irrefutable proof of Thai violation of the United Nations Charter, the ASEAN Charter and the basic principles of international law.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, General Tea Seiha, is planning to meet Thai Minister of Defense, General Nattaphon Narkphanit — the two are the Co-Chair of the Cambodian-Thail General Border Committee (GBC) – on Wednesday and saying that Cambodia reaffirms its commitment to dialogue and seeking a peaceful resolution of the current dispute along the borders in accordance with international law.
Cambodia has expressed its support for the holding of GBC meeting on 24 December, in line with the ASEAN Chairman’s statement issued following the Special Meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers on the Current Situation between Cambodia and Thailand held in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
In Bangkok, Thailand, Thai media reported on Tuesday quoting their Minister of Defense as saying that no country is truly taking the Thai side… but in practice they stand on Cambodia’s side while claiming neutrality.
