‘FUCK THE POLICE’, the words seen around Thai anti-government protesters’ sites

Bangkok (15 Jan 2014): T-shirts with the words “FUCK THE POLICE” have been hung for sale around Siam Center in the central of Bangkok on Wednesday for attraction from both Thai anti-government protesters and foreigner visitors.
When asked why the t-shirts print the bad curse to police, a female seller said that because the protesters do not like the police, the T-shirt makers produced such words on the-shirts.
On December 26, 2013 during clashes between security forces and anti-government protesters, a police officer was shot in the chest and died at hospital in Bangkok while a few protesters were injured. Since Sunday, 46-year-old Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra sent about 18,000 police forces to cope with the protesters led by former opposition parliamentarian Mr. Suthep Thaugsuban, 64, from the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).
During the clash, police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at the protesters while the protesters were using slingshots and hurling rocks at the police.
On Tuesday, Suthep threatened to detain Yingluck if she does not resign. Suthep and his PDRC alleged Yingluck’s government that it has been controlled by her brother – former Premier Thaksin Shinawatra who was ousted by a coup in 2006 and sentenced to jail in absentia for abuse of power in 2008. He is now living in Dubai.
Yingluck, however, denies that her brother is not behind her administration and she argues that her government’s spending policies are designed to increase consumer spending across Thailand to reduce its dependence on exports.

Suthep and his supporters firmly announced that they are closing all main government buildings and shutdown Bangkok until Yingluck resigns.
T-shirts with the words “SHUTDOWN Bangkok” are also sold at the protesters’ sites.
