Phnom Penh (16 Dec, 2011): Cambodian soldiers started open fire first on Thursday to warn Thai military craft trying to land on the Cambodian territory, Cambodian military official confirmed Friday. On Thursday afternoon, Cambodian soldiers started shooting in the air to warn a Thai helicopter flying over Cambodia and mostly landed. The Thai counterparts also fired back with heavy guns but no casualty for the both sides. Gun exchange between the two neighbouring nations happened for the first time since Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has been in position for a few months. Before the Thai national election in early July, Cambodia accused Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to provoke problem and invaded some parts of Cambodian territory. The relation becomes better after Yingluck becomes the Thai premier.
