Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) Deputy President Kem Sokha confirmed that CNRP has no plan to conduct a mass demonstration on Tuesday while rumour is spreading out on social media network.
Speaking to CNPR supporters and his speech aired on radio FM93.5 on Monday, Kem Sokha assured that CNRP has no plan to conduct the demonstration and that CNRP still needs to find peaceful solution with the Cambodian People’s Party for the national interests.
Information and comments have been posted on Facebook on the weekend saying CNRP would hold a mass protest against the results of the 28 July election that CPP has 68 of the 123 seats in the National Assembly, against 55 for CNRP.
However, CNRP President Sam Rainsy claims that his CNRP has actually won up to 63 and he warned to hold a huge demonstration unless an impartial, independent committee resolves complaints over irregularities.
