What happen when the European Union shut down the export market in Cambodia

Sam Rainsy, president of the Cambodian National Rescue Party, said that if the European Union shuts down the export markets clothing from Cambodia and then turn it on again with proper term and condition that will be tough and to be more accurate and it clearly will urge the government to practice the human right, labor law, and other enforcements thoughtfully.

He said that all the major dealers and money in large part to the ruling party; yet, closing the export markets will not affect the majority of population and workers instead of giving the lesson the government to practices its policy and cut its corruption and give more value to the labor force.

Mr. Phay Siphan the government spoke person said Sam Rainsy does not speak well of Cambodia and not even give the value to workers. He regards Sam Rainsy statement is a sad story, and called for close Europe is cut off the Khmer advantages.

Mr. Kong Athit, vice president of the Union Democratic Cambodian garment workers stated that the statement made by the Sam Rainsy to European market remove clothing products from Cambodia could give bad impact to workers who work in this field.

Instead, Mr. Chea Mony, as an adviser to the Free Trade Union of Workers of the Kingdom of Cambodia, said Sam Rainsy clearly understand economy, and he considered the mention of Sam Rainsy is a good notion and does not affect the local industry.

According to the report of the European Union on the EU, the European commercial exchanges together within cash approximately 4.551 million euros, or US $ 5 billion in 2015, in the past, clothing export approximately $ 2.962 million euros or 3.2 billion dollars.
