Phnom Penh (22 Nov, 2012): Some private institutions in Cambodia’ capital of Phnom Penh have scrolled the US flag down along with other foreign flags to half way of flagstaff so far indicating the sharing condolences with the death of King Father Norodom Sihanouk.

King, President, and Prime Ministers of the 10 countries of ASEAN have paid their respects to the soul of Cambodia’s Late King Father in the opening summit and some other international leaders went to the Royal Palace to pay their direct respects to his corps.

Differing from those leaders, US President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta who also have been in Cambodia this week for the summit did ignore their respects to Late King Father.

The US embassy in Phnom Penh never draws its American flag down in haft way of the flagstaff for sharing condolence with the Late King Father’s royal family and Cambodian people.

Late King Father Norodom Sihanouk was ousted from the country’s Head of State by a coup on 18 March, 1970 with support from American administration.

The King Father, 90, passed away by heart attack in early 15 October in a hospital of Beijing, China. With a special China flight from Beijing, the King Father’s corpse arrived back to Phnom Penh capital in the afternoon of 17 October. His corpse will be cremated in February 2013.
