Training information officiers and spokespersons nationwide

Phnom Penh (13 Dec, 2011): Cambodian Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Information on Tuesday started training officials from the sub-national levels across the nation on how to be good spokespersons and information officers.

The training with a topic of “Information & Public Work Improvement of the Capital/Provincial Administration” gets support from Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (Foundation). It focuses on Effective Communication, Communication in Crisis, Effective Work with Media, The Use of Press Releases and Press Conferences, Organising Exclusive Interviews for Media, and Tools to Provide Information Directly to Citizens.

The training aims to make the activities of the municipal/provincial councils and their administration more transparent, to improve citizens’ opportunities for participating in decision-making processes of the capital/provincial administration, and to thereby contribute to democratic development.
