Cambodian journalists head to cover news in the Middle East

Phnom Penh (12 October, 2012): A group of five Cambodian journalists is to travel to Kuwait on Friday to cover news at a summit on Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) to be held in Kuwait city on 15-17 October.
The journalists are Mr. Chhay Sophal, Editor-in-Chief of Cambodia News, Mr. Bun Chhuoy, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Kampcuea Thmei, Mr. Khvay Atiya, Deputy General Director of National Television of Cambodia (TVK), Mr. Saray, Reporter of Koh Santepheap, and Mr. Oum Vonn, Editor of Lady Magazine.
Mr. Abdulla Almuhanna, the third secretary of the Kuwaiti embassy in Phnom Penh, said that it is a great honor that the Kuwaiti government invites the Cambodian journalists to cover news at the summit on ACD firstly held in Kuwait. He said through the media coverage in Kuwait, the Cambodian people can realize good cooperation between Cambodia and Kuwait.
So far, 31 nations are the ACD members and Cambodia joined ACD membership in 2002. It is the first time that the Kuwaiti government invited Cambodian journalists through Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Ministry of Information to cover news in its nation in the Middle East.
