Cambodia to find information and file an international complaint about 7 Thai soldiers raped Cambodian young woman

Phnom Penh (17 November 2025): An 18-year-old Cambodian woman working in Thailand has been reported to be brutally raped repeatedly by 7 Thai black-uniform soldiers.

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha and his spouse on Monday visited her in a hospital in Battambang province.

She was with a group of more than 10 other Cambodian workers traveling back home from Thailand through Cambodia’s Svay Chek border crossing in Battambang province’s Kam Rieng district.

Sar Sokha confirmed that on Sunday she was in a state of forgetfulness but under the care of the medical team, her condition has improved.

Cambodian Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior Touch Sokhak has confirmed the case saying that the rape made by the 7 Thai black-uniform soldiers.

The next steps, the Cambodian Government through the Ministry of the Interior’s National Police is cooperating with relevant parties to collect information and file an international complaint about the depraved acts of Thai soldiers against the victim.

“Currently, the National Police and various associations are working together to collect information. We are working hard to expose this disgusting act on the international stage, which we cannot accept on behalf of our fellow citizens,” Sar Sokha said.
