Japan denies rumors for providing combat drones to Thailand to attack Cambodia

Phnom Penh (6 August 2025): Japan’s Embassy to Cambodia on Wednesday denied information hurling on social media that the Japanese government will provide combat drones to Thailand.

Posting on its Facebook page, the embassy said “This information is FALSE” and that its government has never planned to provide such equipment to Thailand nor has received such a request from Thailand.

Japan’s assistance is strictly limited to areas not directly related to international conflict. We would appreciate it if you would not to spread the fake news, said the embassy adding that its government places the utmost importance on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached between Cambodia and Thailand and on the early restoration of peace.

“We sincerely hope that the people of Cambodia can go back to peaceful daily life as soon as possible,” the embassy said. (Chhay Sophal)
