Knockoff Galaxy S3 to go better than genuine one in China
Knockoff Galaxy S3, similar with genuine smartphones not only in appearance but also in functioning, will be on sale in China just one month after Galaxy S3 of Samsung Electronics began to be marketed.
The name of Galaxy S3 knockoff smart phone is ‘HDC Galaxy S3′, whose size and external appearance are almost same including user interpace(UI) of Galaxy S3, according to Engadget Chinese Edition, IT special media. In its upper part of the facade there is no Samsung Electronics logo, but in its back side Samsung logo is engraved fairly.
In terms of product descriptions, there are differences of one and two stages.
Galaxy S3 are loaded with 4.8 inch super AMOLED of 1280X720 resolution onto it, but knockoff smart phone loaded 4.7 inch LCD of 800X480 resolution onto it.
In regard to processor, 1GHz MTK MT6575 based on Coretex A9 was used. Knockoff smart phone also used 5 million pixel, not 8 million pixel in camera and adopted 300,000 pixels in the case of front camera lense. In the case of Android operating system, 2.3(Gingerbread) was applied, not 4.0(Icecream sandwich, ICS). Knockoff’s performance seems to be in no way inferior to a legitimate product as a smartphone even though product descriptions remain a little behind.
Moreover, users can’t find any special problems in shooting picture and moving screen or in operating application. System operation speed also seems to be smooth. Game program too is operated smoothly.
Engadget Chinese Edition reported that the price of HDC Galaxy S3 was fixed with 1,270 yuan (230,000 won) and has not yet decided when it will be sold in Chinese market. In view of the fact that the market price of China Unicom Galaxy S3 is 4,999 yuan (927,000 won), the price of knockoff smartphone is just one fourth of the price level.
If this knockoff smartphone, considered to be A- in terms of design, B+ in terms of product descriptions and software version, and A+ credit in terms of price in comparison with a genuine Galaxy S3, is marketed, it appears to garner bigger appeal. Though most young Chinese users have an eye on high-quality smartphone, they will have no other choice but to get vicarious pleasure with a knockoff smartphone due to high price of legitimate products.
