Phnom Penh (8 Nov 2013): To build up sticky cooperation between Cambodia and India, the Embassy of India to Cambodia along with India Tourism and India Tourism Development Corporation this week has organized for the first time Indian Food & Dance Festival in Phnom Penh capital.

Mr. Rajamurugan, the First Secretary of Indian Embassy to Cambodia, told New Youth that the festival — started from October 30 will be ended on November 9, 2013 — is conducted for the first time in Phnom Penh and it aims to strengthen cultural relation of the two nations and to bring India closer to Cambodia. The festival brings nice food together from both southern and northern parts of India to the Cambodian people, he added.

During the 10-day stay in Phnom Penh, several Indian traditional dancers have a series of their performance at Naga World Hotel. Younger dancer Shruti Malushti, one of the dancers, said she felt fantastic that she had chance to come to Cambodia and perform dances for the Cambodian. “I’ve received experiences here in Cambodia and I believe that Cambodia and India have good relation and friendship,” she told New Youth after her performance at the night of 7 November.

The festival has been supported from Indian Chamber of Commerce and Indian Association Cambodia and it shows experienced Indian Chefs including the well renowned Mr. Sanjay Dasari and Mr. M.C. Pal who demonstrate their culinary talents of different Indian cuisine.

The festival fun-filled evenings of entertainment for the family includes delicious Indian food and Indian dances including Bollywood numbers by renowned Dancers from Mumbai.
