Cambodian journalists dead and wounded in accident
Phnom Penh (23 Oct, 2013): At least one Cambodian journalist working for a national newspaper was dead while one is seriously wounded in a traffic accident Wednesday, a military police officer said.
Ty Uysong, reporter of Koh Santepheap, along with the driver were dead and Srouy Nika, reporter of Rasmei Kapuchea, is in critical condition after a van carrying a group of several national journalists hit a bus from behind on national rout 5, said Por Vanak — Battambang Provincial Military Police Commander.
Five journalists were seriously injured as their arms and legs are broken, he said, and they were sent to Battambang provincial hospital for emergency treatment.
The journalists were taken by the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) so that they could cover news on CRC President Bun Rany during her trip for offering donation to the flood victims in Battambang. By Heng Neang/Cambodia News
