Phnom Penh (October 17, 2013): The country’s biggest cement plant — Cambodia Cement Chakrey Ting Co, Ltd — has donated US$100.000 to the recent flood victims through the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC).
During a courtesy meeting with the country’s first lady — Bun Rany Hun Sen who is also the CRC President and Prime Minister Hun Sen’s wife — at the CRC headquarter in Phnom Penh early this week, Ok-nha Lim Rose — Chairman of the Board Members of the Cambodia Cement Chakrey Ting Factory Co., Ltd and AZ group Director — has offered the donation to the CRC for helping the flood victims.
At least 140 people have been confirmed dead while 377,000 households are being affected so far due to the flood in 17 provinces since the third week of September, according to the National Committee for Disaster Management.
“We want to help our sad flood victims through the Cambodian Red Cross and the donation was offered during our team meeting with Samdech Kittiprittbindit Bun Rany Hun Sen on 15 October, 2013,“ Ok-nha Lim Rose told Cambodia News.
The Kampot province-based Cambodia Cement Chakrey Ting Factory is a joint venture between Cambodia’s Cement Construction Resource Co., Ltd — the AZ company’s alliance — and Chinese company, Urec Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. Ok-nha Lim Rose said the factory is now finished up to 60 percent and will be inaugurated in either June or September 2014. “During my team’s meeting with Samdech Kittiprittbindit Bun Rany Hun Sen, I invited Samdech and Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to officially open the factory,” he said.
